My Services

Ghostwriting

If you can talk, you can turn your expertise into a book that shines.

My process is more planning-heavy than your average ghostwriter. We spend 4 to 6 weeks creating an in-depth outline of the book together on the front end, which is often the hardest part of the process. But unlike many other ghostwriters, because of this early work, I don’t have clients get bogged down in endless rounds of revision. You’ve already worked out your vision on the page.

Once we’ve settled on an outline, we talk through the entire book over the phone, chapter by chapter, in a series of two-hour calls. At the end of content calls, I write for about two months. I do the heavy lifting on the page, presenting you at the end with a manuscript that reads like you've been writing for ten years. It’s as close to your voice and sounds as much like you as possible.

Then, we revise the manuscript together to reach your vision and make it shine. For most people, this takes about four hours of work plus a call every week for five weeks. Then, we lock in the book and support your next steps towards getting it into the world.

Publishing

Once you have a great book in hand, it’s time to get it out in the world.

Self-publishing: I can provide a full, end-to-end publishing experience, using the same process that has been highly successful for many authors. For those who want to self-publish on their own but need the support of a coach, please reach out. I’m happy to create structure and support you in doing your book justice.

Hybrid publishing: For those who want the name of a publisher on their book, with the certainty and control of a relationship with a hybrid publisher, I can recommend reputable firms clients have worked with in the past, and in many circumstances provide an introduction. Note: Hybrid publishers are expensive and are not for everyone, though their services can be perfect for a small set of authors.

Traditional publishing: I write book proposals that get attention and help you to create a query plan with targeted agents and editors. If you need a proposal to show the strength of your concept and its marketability, I can help you lay out your case to publishers in the strongest possible way. If you’re looking to publish in the tech field, I also have familiarity with the leading tech publishers and can recommend who to talk to and how.

Editing and Book Coaching

If you’re looking for a partner in creating the book you’ve always wanted to write, but want to do the on-page work yourself, look no further.

The creative process can be arduous, but there’s no deeper sense of accomplishment than holding your book in your hands at the end. It makes all of the hours and all of the work well worth it.

Editing: My personal approach to editing means supporting your vision, to help you shape your book into the best possible version of itself and what you have in mind. That’s why I don’t accept projects outside of my expertise in business and non-fiction (see my list of ghostwriting topics), and science fiction, thriller, and romance: I want to be certain that I understand your genre and your vision for your project within the world you’re writing to help you achieve it.

Book coaching: If you need help getting your words on the page, from outline to final draft, rely on me to create the structure and accountability you need. I am a kind, but firm, taskmaster who can help you reach your goals even in the face of emotional overwhelm and struggle. I have finished books on deadline despite depression and worked with authors with ADHD and other struggles.
